Shaped glass for industrial equipment and site remote controls

Strength, precision and aesthetic integration of technical glass.

At PROMIC, we design and manufacture shaped glass parts for demanding industrial environments. Among our creations, the glass used for site remote controls is a good example of the complementarity between technical performance and design required for these applications.
These lenses have to meet a number of requirements specific to outdoor and worksite environments: mechanical resistance to impact, waterproofing against dust and humidity, durability against scratches and chemicals, as well as legibility and ease of use.
To achieve this, we use a variety of glass shaping and treatment processes: - Precision cutting and machining (CNC, waterjet, laser) to create apertures, notches or fastening zones suitable for electronic enclosures; - Hardening and functional treatments to enhance resistance to impact and thermal variations; - Optical and design finishes, such as technical screen-printing, to conceal electronic parts while integrating markings, logos or areas of functional transparency.
These shaped glasses, used on the front of remote controls or man-machine interfaces, are designed to combine robustness and visual integration, while facilitating the ergonomics and legibility of the devices. In addition to this example, PROMIC supports numerous companies in the design of products incorporating shaped glass, whether in response to ATEX constraints, stricter environmental requirements or the need to upgrade equipment.
