Optical prisms

Optical prism manufacturing

Visit optical prisms are essential components in the management light deflection and dispersion.

They can be used to change beam direction, separate wavelengths or invert an image with high geometric precision.

Used in spectroscopy, metrology, imaging or laser systems, they guarantee controlled light handling and high optical stability.

Each prism is made from high-quality substrates (N-BK7, fused silica, quartz, fluorides, ZnSe, etc.), polished to exacting angular tolerances and offering excellent wavefront homogeneity.

Anti-reflective, reflective or dichroic treatments can be applied to optimize transmission or reflection depending on the spectral range targeted (UV, visible, IR).

Deflection prisms

Deflecting prisms are used to modify the trajectory of a light beam without altering its spectrum. They are used in alignment, aiming, observation and imaging systems.

They allow the beam to be reflected at 90° or 180°. Widely used to straighten, invert or deflect light in precision optical systems.

They provide a fixed 90° deflection, independent of the angle of incidence.
Ideal for sighting, angle measurement and optical metrology.

They invert and straighten the image, while maintaining the beam's direction.
Used in binoculars, periscopes and compact observation systems.

Dispersion prisms

Dispersion prisms separate the different wavelengths of white light by varying the refractive index according to color.
They are indispensable for spectroscopy, chemical analysis and optical calibration.

They enable controlled, linear dispersion, suitable for spectrometers and analysis systems.

They ensure fine, stable separation of spectral components, used for precision measurement and calibration.

Reflective prisms

Reflective prisms use total internal reflection to reflect or bend light with minimal loss. They offer high angular accuracy and excellent mechanical stability.

They exploit internal reflection to redirect light without additional coating, guaranteeing optimum transmission.

They invert right/left and flip the image.
Frequently used in compact sighting systems, binoculars and imaging devices.

Custom-made prisms

Each prism can be designed to your specifications:

- Customized geometry (angle, dimension, cutting plane orientation)
- Optical materials adapted to the desired spectral range
- Anti-reflective, metallic or dichroic coatings depending on application
- Tight angular tolerances for high-precision optical alignment

Our optical prisms combine material purity, geometric precision and surface quality to guarantee reliable deflection, dispersion and reflection in the most demanding environments.
